Energy FMCG, a fast-moving consumer goods company operating in the Egyptian market, has announced plans to invest $8 million in the establishment of a new vegetable oil manufacturing facility in Egypt, in a move that reflects continued investor confidence in the growth potential of Egypt's edible oils sector.

Company executives revealed that the new factory will be equipped with modern processing and refining technology, with an annual production capacity designed to serve both the domestic market and potential export markets across the region.

The investment comes at a time of growing domestic demand for edible oils in Egypt, driven by population growth, rising urbanization, and increasing consumer purchasing power. Egypt is one of the largest importers of vegetable oils in the Arab world, and the government has been actively encouraging local production to reduce its dependence on imports and ease pressure on foreign currency reserves.

Energy FMCG indicated that the new facility will create several hundred direct and indirect jobs upon reaching full operational capacity, contributing to local economic development in the area where the factory will be located.

The company expressed its commitment to meeting Egyptian food safety and quality standards, noting that the factory will be designed and operated in full compliance with national and international regulatory requirements for edible oil production.
