The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture has announced that laboratory results conducted by the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) on olive oil samples from South Lebanon are highly reassuring, confirming full compliance with national quality standards.

According to the Ministry, technical committees collected 20 samples directly from olive mills across the Nabatieh Governorate. This initiative was part of a targeted monitoring plan covering the districts of Nabatieh, Hasbaya, Marjayoun, and Bint Jbeil. The subsequent laboratory analysis verified that all samples met the LIBNOR (Lebanese Standards Institution) specifications for olive oil.

The sampling process involved mills in several towns, including Hasbaya, Marjayoun, Deir Mimas, Ansar, Doueir, Abba, Yater, Kafra, Braachit, Safad El Battikh, Qalaouiyeh, Majdel Selm, Qaqaait Al Jisr, and Froun. The Ministry emphasized that these results bolster confidence in the quality of olive oil produced in these regions, providing essential scientific assurance for farmers, mill owners, and consumers alike.

In an effort to strengthen the national agricultural sector, the Ministry called upon citizens to prioritize the consumption of Lebanese olive oil. This appeal aims to support southern farmers and stimulate local production under the slogan: 'Let us consume Lebanese olive oil and keep the bounty of our land on our tables.'
