As part of the Egyptian state's ongoing commitment to supporting productive activities rooted in local natural resources, maximizing the value-added of agricultural yield, and strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian products in domestic and international markets, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, inspected the upgraded "Virginia" olive oil processing facility in Marsa Matrouh during an extensive field tour to review key development projects in the governorate.
The upgraded "Virginia" facility serves as an integrated industrial model, leveraging the unique natural resources of Matrouh Governorate. Operating with an impressive daily capacity of up to 80 tons, the facility contributes to local community development by generating approximately 150 direct and indirect jobs. It specializes in the processing, packaging, and marketing of extra virgin olive oil and various natural botanical oils.

The facility plays a vital role in supplying the domestic market with premium olive oil and natural derivatives, helping substitute imported goods and conserve foreign currency. Furthermore, the facility actively participates in international trade exhibitions, exporting high-quality Egyptian olive oil that complies with rigorous international standards and positioning Matrouh as a major hub for the olive industry.
