We heard from our parents and grandparents about the bean dish with hot oil. My grandfather Hassan says: “Go to Darwish's uncle, the owner of the lamp, get the hot oil while it is fresh, and bring beans with him from Uncle Sayed. Come on.” The family gets together and eats happily, and then everyone goes to work actively. At that time, we did not hear of the modern diseases that appear these days (such as heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, weak immunity, etc.). We note that the average age of our ancestors, may God protect them, was high compared to the average age of modern generations.

What is the sirajah and what is this magic oil?

In the past, the siraja was the place where seeds were crushed by stones. The seeds were ground between two heavy stones to release the oil without using any heat (cold). This method keeps the oil rich in natural active substances. In the past, animals were used to rotate the stone, then the matter evolved to the use of engines. Currently, modern advanced machines have emerged.

Magic oil (hot oil)

The hot oil is flax oil or linseed oil. It is a true food treasure, as it is rich in:

  • Omega-3 acids (alpha-linolenic acid)
  • vitamins and fiber.

These ingredients contribute to reducing bad cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, improving brain function, and helping to prevent some diseases.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This oil is used cold raw in dishes such as beans and salads. It is never preferable to heat it because it loses its nutritional value and is subject to combustion quickly due to its low degree of combustion.

Why is it called “hot oil” and does it really taste spicy?

In the past, when collecting flax, the “Hara” plant was collected with it. When flax seeds were pressed, a percentage of the seeds of the Hara plant were pressed with them, giving flax oil its distinctive and beloved taste that it is famous for.

Is it really as useful as our grandparents said?

Yes, and science confirms this. Flax oil (its scientific name Linum usitatissimum) It is very rich in essential fatty acids in the following proportions:

  • Omega 3 (alpha-linolenic acid): 52% - 63%
  • Omega 6 (linoleic acid): 14%
  • Omega 9 (oleic acid): 15%

The lignans complex (Lignans): a unique feature

What also distinguishes flaxseed oil is that it contains Lignans (Lignans), a natural antioxidant complex. It was used in the past for the skin as it formed a shiny insulating layer. Its use has evolved to be included in the composition of many modern skin care creams.

General Benefits of Flax Oil

Flax oil is good for both internal and external health of the body:

  • Heart health: It supports heart health by helping to lower cholesterol.
  • The digestive system: It promotes digestive health thanks to its laxative properties.
  • Skin and hair: It improves skin and hair health thanks to its rich content of omega-3 and vitamin E.
  • Hydration and treatment: It helps to moisturize the skin and treat inflammation and some skin diseases.

Ways to use:

  • For food: Add it directly to cold foods such as salad, beans, and cheese. (Do not heat it.)
  • For skin: It can be used as a topical lotion on the skin and skin to moisturize and treat some skin problems.

What are the benefits of a bean dish with hot oil?

It's an integrated blend. Beans provide fiber and plant-based proteins, while spicy oil adds healthy fats (omega-3), vitamins and minerals. This makes the meal very balanced and nutritious.

Good health.
