
Crude palm oil futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to trend higher next week, supported by expectations of weaker output.
Palm oil trader David Ng said falling stock levels in the country have also boosted market sentiment.
He told Bernama: "We expect crude palm oil prices to trade between 4,400 and 4,600 ringgit per tonne next week."
Meanwhile, Jim Teh, senior palm oil trader at Interband Group of Companies, said market participants would be waiting for the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) to release its monthly industry statistics on 10 October, which will include September's crude palm oil stock levels.
He added: "As for demand, it will come from India due to the festival season, as well as from China, Pakistan, Middle Eastern countries and the European Union."
On a weekly basis, the October 2025 contract rose 35 ringgit to 4,400 ringgit per tonne, the November 2025 contract gained 51 ringgit to 4,418 ringgit per tonne, and the December 2025 contract added 46 ringgit to 4,442 ringgit per tonne.
The January 2026 contract gained 37 ringgit to 4,457 ringgit per tonne, the February 2026 contract jumped 28 ringgit to 4,448 ringgit per tonne, while the March 2026 contract rose 8 ringgit to 4,416 ringgit per tonne.
Weekly trading volume fell to 373,167 lots from 423,097 lots in the previous week, while open interest rose to 273,808 contracts from 250,893 previously.
In the physical market, the October delivery price for the southern region rose 60 ringgit to 4,420 ringgit per tonne.
