The results of the 15th National Competition for Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil Producers for the 2024–2025 agricultural season were unveiled on Friday evening in the city of Meknes, with the presentation of the Prix de la Meilleure Qualité Huile d'Olive Extra Vierge.
The competition, which has become an annual fixture held alongside Morocco's International Agriculture Show (SIAM), was organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, in consultation with the Moroccan Interprofessional Federation for Olives (INTERPROLIVE).
According to information released during the awards ceremony, "the competition was run under a system established in line with the standards applied by the International Olive Council in this field," noting that "the new strategy [Green Generation 2020-2030] has placed great emphasis on improving the quality of agricultural products, including olive oil."
The competition, which recognises the finest extra virgin olive oils, was open to "all olive oil producers" in Morocco. This year saw "57 candidates from six regions" take part, according to official figures.
