Indonesia is studying a biodiesel blend containing 50% palm oil for 2026, and is also considering a 3% blend for jet fuel next year, energy ministry official Eniya Listiani Dewi told lawmakers on Tuesday.
The world's largest palm oil producer raised its mandatory palm oil blending rate in biodiesel to 40% (B40) this year, up from 35%, in a bid to reduce reliance on imported diesel fuel.
The government's plantation fund is expected to disburse 35.47 trillion rupiah ($2.2 billion) to support the country's mandatory biodiesel programme, Dewi said.
She added that about half of the estimated 15.62 million kilolitres of biodiesel expected to be sold this year will be funded through government subsidies.
