Indonesia's exports of crude and refined palm oil recorded a 2.5% increase in the first half of 2026, reaching a total of 11.28 million tons compared to the same period last year. Official figures from the country's statistics bureau also reveal a more substantial rise in export revenue, which climbed 7.3% to $12.27 billion over the six-month period.
However, a closer look at June 2026 data shows a year-on-year decline in shipment volume, with exports falling 12.6% to 2.4 million tons. Despite this reduction in quantity, the value of June's exports stood at a robust $2.7 billion, a clear indication of the sustained strength in global palm oil prices.
It is important to note that these official statistics encompass only crude and refined palm oil, excluding other significant derivatives such as palm kernel oil, oleochemicals, and biodiesel. The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) is anticipated to release a more comprehensive export report at a later date, and its figures may present variations from the government's official data due to this broader scope.
