Trader David Ng said crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to trade with a slight upward bias next week, supported by Indonesia's B50 biodiesel programme.
He told Bernama: "We expect crude palm oil prices to trade between 4,500 ringgit and 4,650 ringgit per tonne next week."
Meanwhile, CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd reiterated that Indonesia's confirmation of its plan to roll out the B50 biodiesel mandate by mid-2026, together with expectations of a seasonal decline in output from November 2025 to February 2026 following the October peak, is likely to keep crude palm oil prices elevated.
"Crude palm oil prices will remain firm within a range of 4,000 ringgit to 4,500 ringgit per tonne for the rest of 2025."
The investment bank said in a note: "We have raised our crude palm oil price forecast by 130 ringgit per tonne to 4,330 ringgit per tonne for 2025, and by 100 ringgit per tonne to 4,200 ringgit per tonne for 2026."
Indonesia, the world's largest palm oil producer, will implement the B50 biodiesel programme in the second half of 2026, a move seen as eliminating the country's need to import diesel in the coming years.
On a weekly basis, the October 2025 contract rose 68 ringgit to 4,468 ringgit per tonne, the November 2025 contract gained 78 ringgit to 4,496 ringgit per tonne, and the December 2025 contract added 102 ringgit to reach 4,544 ringgit per tonne.
The January 2026 and February 2026 contracts also rose 108 ringgit each to 4,565 ringgit per tonne and 4,556 ringgit per tonne respectively, while the March 2026 contract climbed 114 ringgit to 4,530 ringgit per tonne.
Weekly trading volume rose to 470,418 lots from 373,167 lots the previous week, while open interest increased to 282,064 lots from 273,808 lots previously.
In the physical market, the price of South October rose 80 ringgit to 4,500 ringgit per tonne.
