Job title: Lab Technician
Function: Operations
Job location: Crush Plant – Borg El Arab
Reporting to: ORM Lead
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine laboratory tests using approved SOPs.
• Operate laboratory instruments and equipment (balances, pH meters, spectrophotometers, fume hoods, etc.).
• Record observations and test results accurately.
• Assist Quality Control and Food safety analysts in more complex experiments.
• Set up laboratory equipment before testing.
• Perform basic calibration and maintenance of instruments.
• Report equipment malfunctions to Quality analysts.
• Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly.
• Maintain Lab records & results.
• Assist in preparing reports for the quality team.
• Follow laboratory health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lab.

• Degree from Workers’ University OR Diploma in quality control, or lab technologies OR any relevant degree.
• 3 years’ experience in Laboratory testing techniques.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and safety.
• Familiarity with lab instruments and calibration.
• Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices.
• Basic skills of PC and Office applications.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
• Attention to details.
• Teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong safety and quality mindset.
