Azerbaijan's production of liquid vegetable oils experienced a substantial surge during the first seven months of the current year, reaching 30,449.2 tons from January to July. This figure represents an impressive 35.4% increase compared to the output recorded in the same period of the previous year, according to data released by the State Statistics Committee.
In contrast, margarine production in the country saw a decline over the same period, totaling 22,855.2 tons. This marks a 16.3% reduction year-on-year. As of August 1, national finished goods inventories indicated robust levels: liquid vegetable oil stocks stood at 3,495.5 tons, up 16.08%, while margarine inventories reached 4,064.3 tons, signifying a remarkable 21.32-fold increase.
Broadly, the Azerbaijani food sector demonstrated strong overall growth. Total food production across the country amounted to 3 billion 164.9 million manats during the seven-month period, reflecting a 9.6% year-on-year rise. Source: Fineko/abc.az
