
Dr. Mokhtar Guesous, a senior international olive oil judge, announced his participation as a member of the international jury for the “Al Ahram International Olive Oil Competition” held in Egypt, revealing that Algeria has achieved an unprecedented record in the number of entries for this edition.
Dr. Guesous confirmed that this edition marks a historic precedent for Algeria, with 28 participating samples registered. This is the highest number ever recorded for Algeria in any international olive oil competition since independence, and international events have never before seen Algerian participation of this scale and momentum.
Regarding preparations for the event, the international expert said he personally supervised the preparation and packaging of the samples to ensure they were transported and delivered to Cairo according to the highest quality and safety standards.
He expressed pride in this effort, which primarily aims to ensure honorable and effective representation of Algerian olive oil in international forums.

Commenting on the technical level of the entries, Dr. Guesous said:
“This season I discovered very beautiful and promising samples that clearly reflect the major development taking place in Algeria’s olive oil sector, both in terms of final product quality and the growing technical awareness among producers.”
Dr. Mokhtar Guesous concluded by wishing all participants success, expressing hope that this record participation will be a pivotal step toward strengthening the position of Algerian olive oil and enhancing its presence on the global map.
