During his tour of the South Port Said Industrial Zone, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and his accompanying delegation inspected Al Filaya Capital IFG’s factory for food industries and vegetable oil processing and packaging.
During the tour, the prime minister inspected the different food production lines and manufacturing stages. He listened to an explanation from Islam Filaya, founder and CEO of Al Filaya Group.
Filaya explained that the factory covers an area of 1,861 square meters, with investments estimated at around EGP 300 million, through an Egyptian-Qatari partnership, and employs 300 workers.
He added that the factory consists of two production lines with a production capacity of 10,000 tonnes per month of food products. Part of the output is exported to Arab and African countries, while also covering local market needs.
During his presentation, the CEO of Al Filaya Group noted that the factory is currently manufacturing and packaging vegetable oils with a production capacity of around 8 tonnes per hour, totaling 9,000 bottles of vegetable oils.
Work is also underway to expand production through two phases: the first for refining and the second for oil extraction.
Regarding future plans for the factory, Filaya said the company is currently completing the full production line to reach the targeted production capacity in the oils sector. It also plans to add new lines for packaging legumes, sugar, ghee, and margarine over the next five years.
The CEO added that the factory’s infrastructure and manufacturing equipment follow food safety requirements and international standards for good manufacturing practices.
