According to data from the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA), US soybean crush volumes reached 5.39 million tonnes in September, one of the highest monthly levels on record and up 12% compared with the same month last year.

The US market has recently seen rising domestic demand for soybean oil, alongside record processing volumes driven by tariff restrictions on soybean exports to China, providing additional support to processors.

US soybean oil consumption rose sharply during July to September of this year, hitting a new quarterly record of 3.4 million tonnes (compared with 3.03 million tonnes in April–June, and 3.16 million tonnes in the same period last year).
In September of this year, consumption stood at 1.1 million tonnes, slightly below August's level but up 10% year-on-year.

The association reported that US soybean oil stocks fell to a nine-month low, reaching just 0.56 million tonnes by the end of September.

It was previously reported that global vegetable oil imports are set to rise by more than 3 million tonnes during the 2025/2026 season, driven by growing demand from the biofuel industry, with US energy policy considered the main driver of this growth.
