Ukraine has significantly bolstered its position as the primary supplier of rapeseed oil to the European Union, driven by a sharp increase in export volumes. According to the European Commission, for the period between July 1 and October 25, 2026, Ukrainian shipments of rapeseed oil to the EU grew by 44.9% year-on-year, rising from 126.07 to 182.69 thousand tons.
This surge has further consolidated Ukraine's market share, which now accounts for 81.89% of total European imports, up from 76.18% in the previous year. Ukraine remains the indispensable lead supplier for the bloc. The United Kingdom followed as the second-largest exporter with 23.41 thousand tons (10.5% share), while Serbia ranked third with 6.31 thousand tons (2.83%).
Broadly, the European Union increased its overall rapeseed oil imports by 34.8% during this timeframe, growing from 165.48 to 223.08 thousand tons. Notably, this import volume represents a substantial 80.2% increase compared to the corresponding period of the 2024/25 marketing year, highlighting a significant shift in European demand for the commodity.
