Turkey's state grain agency TMO has issued a new international tender to purchase 12,000 tonnes of crude sunflower oil, marking its return to the market after a months-long pause.
According to UkrAgroConsult, delivery is scheduled between September 21 and October 16, with the product to be shipped to the ports of Mersin or Iskenderun. Bids must be submitted by September 10.
The tender is being launched against a backdrop of a stable Turkish sunflower oil market. Ukrainian crude sunflower oil for September shipment was being offered at approximately $1,410 per tonne on a CIF Mersin basis, although buyer interest remained limited.
TMO's previous sunflower oil tender dates back to April, when the agency provisionally awarded 12,000 tonnes at around $1,417 per tonne CFR. That price sits only marginally above current offers for Ukrainian sunflower oil in Mersin, indicating little movement in the regional price level since spring.
