Tunisia's ONSSA Urges Olive Oil Producers to Comply With Labelling Rules to Protect Consumers

Tunisia's National Office of Food Health Safety (ONSSA) has called on all olive oil sector operators to comply with regulatory labelling standards, in the interest of product quality and consumer safety.
The office stressed that packaging must include an accurate description of the oil's grade (such as "extra virgin", "virgin" or "ordinary virgin"), along with traceability details including the name and address of the producing or importing company and the health licence number. ONSSA also noted that other essential information must be included, such as the expiry date, net weight, country of origin, batch number and proper storage instructions.
