Tunisia's olive oil export sector has achieved a significant financial milestone, with total revenues reaching 4 billion dinars by the end of September 2026. According to the latest figures from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), this represents a robust growth of 37.4% compared to the 2.9 billion dinars recorded during the same period last year, marking a net increase of approximately 1.1 billion dinars.
These results highlight the growing strategic importance of olive oil as a cornerstone of Tunisia's export economy and a primary source of foreign currency reserves. Beyond the macroeconomic indicators, the surge in revenue has a direct impact on the socio-economic landscape, revitalizing trade activity in the hinterlands where olive cultivation is the main livelihood for a vast segment of the population, thereby bolstering regional economic stability.
This exceptional financial performance coincides with a record-breaking 2025-2026 season, which saw production levels reach an estimated 500,000 tons. Such high output reinforces Tunisia's position as a dominant player in the global olive oil market. The country continues to leverage its deep agricultural heritage and unique geographic conditions to solidify its status among the world's top producers and exporters.
