
Updated data released by the International Olive Council confirmed that Tunisia ranked second globally in olive oil exports during the period from October 2024 to January 2025, holding a 24.9% share of total world exports.
Spain topped the rankings with a 27.1% share, followed by Italy in third place with 19.0%, then Turkey with 9.5% and Portugal with 6.9%, while Argentina came in sixth with 3.7%.
Tunisia's olive oil exports recorded a notable rise of 30.4% during this period, according to Tunisie Numérique.
Globally, olive oil imports rose slightly by 1.7% compared with the previous season (2023/2024) across several key markets, with a marked recovery in import volumes seen in Australia, Canada and China.
