Strong demand for sunflower seed, along with processors' willingness to raise prices for large volumes with high oil content, has continued to support price growth in Ukraine, amid an overall decline in raw material supplies this season and a deterioration in quality indicators.
At the start of the week, offer prices were announced at 27,500–28,800 hryvnia per tonne (CPT - ex-plant), but by the end of the reporting period, purchase prices had reached 28,000–29,000 hryvnia per tonne (ex-plant).
The slight improvement in sunflower oil sector prices also helped support seed prices.
