The Belgian agribusiness conglomerate Sipef is currently navigating a highly successful fiscal period, maintaining a firm trajectory toward a record-breaking year in palm oil production. According to the company's latest performance data covering the period from January to the end of September, palm oil output reached 359,357 tonnes, representing a significant 10.4 per cent increase compared to previous figures.

This upward trend is primarily driven by robust expansion in Sipef's Indonesian operations, supplemented by steady growth in Papua New Guinea. Market conditions have remained favorable, with palm oil prices sustaining high levels throughout the third quarter. Looking ahead, Sipef maintains a bullish outlook for the market through the final quarter of 2026 and across 2027. This positive forecast is underpinned by the lingering effects of a powerful El Niño cycle, rising global demand for biodiesel, and ongoing geopolitical instabilities that influence commodity markets.

Beyond its core palm oil business, Sipef also reported gains in its fruit segment. Banana production rose by 8.9 per cent during the first nine months of the year, totaling 42,059 tonnes. Furthermore, the group expanded its footprint in West Africa by finalizing the acquisition of a banana plantation in Côte d'Ivoire on 30 September.

The synergy of exceptionally high production volumes and elevated market prices has positioned Sipef to forecast a recurring profit attributable to the group of between 140 million and 150 million dollars for 2026. If achieved, this figure would set a new historical annual record for the Belgian enterprise.
