Crude palm oil futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to trade lower next week amid forecasts of higher production and rising stock levels.
Palm oil trader David Ng said the recent slowdown in export pace would also weigh on market sentiment.
"Higher stocks put downward pressure on prices, as supply in the market exceeds what is needed at that time," he said.
"We expect prices to trade between 4,180 ringgit per tonne and 4,300 ringgit per tonne next week, with a downward bias," he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, Sathia Varqa, co-founder and senior analyst at Palm Oil Analytics, said market participants would closely watch the July supply and demand data from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), due to be released on Monday, 11 August 2025.

On a weekly basis, the August contract rose 21 ringgit to 4,214 ringgit per tonne, the September 2025 contract gained 8 ringgit to 4,234 ringgit per tonne, and the October 2025 contract added around 10 ringgit to 4,255 ringgit per tonne.
The November 2025 contract also rose 11 ringgit to 4,274 ringgit per tonne, the December 2025 contract gained 5 ringgit to 4,284 ringgit per tonne, while the January 2026 contract slipped 2 ringgit to 4,289 ringgit per tonne.

Weekly trading volume rose to 354,336 lots, compared with 293,302 lots the previous week, while open interest increased to 311,976 contracts against 224,913 contracts a week earlier.
The physical price of crude palm oil for August (South) rose by 20 ringgit to reach 4,250 ringgit per tonne.
