Dr. Sherif Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, made a field visit to Mostakbal Misr for Sustainable Development, where he witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Supply, represented by the Holding Company for Food Industries, and the agency.

The protocol aims to establish an oils industrial complex in Sadat City as part of the ministry’s strategy to strengthen food security.

The agreement comes within a broader plan to secure strategic reserves of essential commodities, such as wheat and oils, in order to stabilize markets and meet citizens’ needs for extended periods.

The Ministry of Supply said the visit reflects ongoing coordination between government bodies to achieve sustainable development goals and ensure the availability of strategic food commodities.

During the visit, the minister inspected the agency’s strategic projects, including modern agricultural activities, advanced grain-storage silo projects, and cold-storage facilities for food and agricultural products.

He praised the agency’s advanced infrastructure, which contributes to improving storage efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of food supplies.

Dr. Sherif Farouk stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Supply and Mostakbal Misr for Sustainable Development as a model of effective partnership between government entities.

He also emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting the food security system by securing strategic reserves and developing trading and supply-chain networks to ensure efficient distribution of essential commodities, including bread and subsidized goods.

The minister said the main goal of these efforts is to stabilize markets and provide high-quality essential goods to citizens.

He also highlighted the role of national projects in strengthening the state’s ability to face economic challenges and ensure the availability of basic needs.

The visit comes within the Ministry of Supply’s vision to strengthen cooperation between national institutions to achieve sustainable development and meet food security requirements.
