The Supply and Internal Trade Directorate in Port Said Governorate carried out an intensive inspection campaign on Thursday targeting outlets across the governorate to verify the validity and quality of traded goods.
The campaign seized large quantities of oils and fats of unknown origin inside a transport vehicle before it entered the governorate’s geographical area.
The seized goods included 20 oil containers of 20 liters each, five oil containers of 25 liters each, 15 tins of ghee weighing 11 kilograms each, and eight oil containers of five liters each.
After examination, the seized goods were found to lack any identification data or invoices proving their source, representing a clear violation of Law No. 45 of 2022, which regulates the circulation of food commodities and documentation of their source.
All seized quantities were impounded, and legal procedures are being taken to refer the case to the competent prosecution.
The Port Said Supply Directorate urged citizens to submit complaints through the unified government complaints system by calling the hotline 16528, using the website www.shakwa.eg, or through the “Fi Khedmetak” mobile application.
