Lux-Oil, an oils and fats industry player, is embarking on a significant expansion of its existing oil extraction plant in Ukraine's Mykolaiv region. The company has announced plans to construct advanced refining and packaging facilities as part of a comprehensive reconstruction project, according to a notice published in the Unified Register for Environmental Impact Assessment.
The ambitious project outlines the development of several key installations designed to enhance the plant's capabilities. These include a new seed drying complex, a sophisticated oil refining and deodorisation facility, and a modern packaging facility. Additionally, the plans encompass the construction of storage tanks for finished products with a total capacity of 1,400 cubic metres, a cooling tower, and local wastewater treatment facilities to ensure environmental compliance. A dedicated grain drying complex with a substantial capacity of 4.5 MW is also part of the expansion.
Upon completion, the new oil refining and deodorisation facility will boast a processing capacity of 200 tons of oil per day, while the packaging facility is designed to handle 90 tons of products daily. To support these expanded operations, Lux-Oil intends to install a 500 kW liquefied gas steam generator, alongside two solid-fuel boilers that will utilise sunflower husks as their energy source. Further infrastructure enhancements include a new pumping station and additional local wastewater treatment facilities capable of processing 5 cubic metres per hour.
Despite these significant additions, the core capacity of the existing oil extraction plant will remain unchanged. The facility will continue its current operations, processing up to 1,000 tons of sunflower seeds, 450 tons of rapeseed, and 400 tons of soybeans per day. The plant's designed production capacity for sunflower oil will also maintain its level of 450 tons per day.
