In a move aimed at diversifying the options available to citizens under the subsidised goods system, the Food Industries Holding Company has announced the launch of a new 700ml oil pack priced at 27 Egyptian pounds for end consumers.
The move comes as part of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade's efforts to provide multiple pricing alternatives suited to citizens' varying purchasing power. The new pack will be available alongside the existing 800ml pack, which sells for 30 Egyptian pounds.
Dr Alaa Naji, Chief Executive Officer of the Food Industries Holding Company, said the launch of the new pack forms part of the ministry's strategy to boost the availability of essential goods at high quality and affordable prices, while giving citizens greater freedom to choose what suits their needs.
Naji added that diversifying pack sizes aims to achieve greater flexibility in making goods available and to ease the burden on citizens, stressing that efforts continue to ensure the steady supply of subsidised goods across all governorates through consumer cooperatives and authorised outlets.
The company affirmed its commitment to implementing the ministry's strategy for developing the subsidy system and providing safe products that meet standard specifications, contributing to meeting citizens' needs and achieving food security.
