A new edible oil processing industry has commenced operations in Nepal's Kapilvastu district, representing an investment of approximately Rs 120 million. The facility, named 'Bharadwaj Oil Industry', is located in Sihorhawa of Mayadevi rural municipality-5.
The industry has begun producing oil under the 'Rice Bran' brand. According to industry manager Om Shankar Upadhayay, the factory is projected to achieve an annual production capacity of 4,500 metric tons of oil. Upadhayay further stated that the facility has created employment opportunities for 80 individuals from the local community.
He emphasized that the oil produced is fortified with essential vitamins A and D and adheres to stringent quality standards, with a core focus on promoting public health. The company has set the retail price of its oil at Rs 365 per liter. Waliuddin Musalman, Chair of Mayadevi rural municipality, also affirmed the positive impact of the cooking oil industry's establishment, highlighting its significant contribution to job creation at the local level.
