Indonesian state-owned plantation firm PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara and Pakistan's Fauji Foundation are currently exploring a strategic partnership to develop 200,000 hectares of integrated oil palm plantations across Indonesia. The proposed investment framework, which targets key development sites in Riau as well as West and Central Kalimantan, is designed to span through 2030.

The two organizations formalized their cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on October 12. This agreement outlines a comprehensive scope of collaboration, including the establishment of plantations, the construction of palm oil extraction mills, and the development of necessary logistics infrastructure. Furthermore, the partnership will address the processing and marketing of crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels.

Mohammad Abdul Ghani, President Director of Agrinas Palma, emphasized that the collaboration is intended to bridge Indonesia's vast natural resource potential with the robust domestic market demand found in Pakistan. 'We view the Fauji Foundation as a strategic long-term partner,' Ghani stated. 'Indonesia possesses the resource potential and development opportunities, while Pakistan has strong domestic market needs. We hope this cooperation can develop into concrete investment opportunities and build a sustainable partnership that benefits both nations.'

Representing the Fauji Foundation delegation, Irfan Khan highlighted the essential nature of an equitable partnership during the meeting. He noted that the goal is to establish a relationship that works effectively for both parties involved, ensuring mutual growth and sustainability in the oils and fats sector.
