Incobrasa Industries, the Brazilian-owned agribusiness operating in the United States, has announced a significant expansion of its biodiesel production capabilities. The company's facility located in Gilman, Illinois, has more than doubled its annual output, increasing capacity from 75 million gallons (284 million litres) to 170 million gallons (644 million litres). According to the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA), this surge in production was effective as of early October.
This capacity boost follows a recent expansion of Incobrasa's soybean processing operations at the same site. Aluizio Ribeiro, the President and CEO of Incobrasa Industries, emphasized that the increased capacity allows the company to support the U.S. administration's Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) targets. He noted that the expansion brings more domestically produced diesel to the market using feedstocks grown and processed within the United States.
NOPA highlighted that by integrating increased soybean crushing with higher biodiesel production, Incobrasa is stimulating additional domestic demand across the agricultural value chain. Headquartered in Gilman, Illinois, Incobrasa is a family-owned enterprise that produces a diverse range of products, including biodiesel, soybean meal, soybean oil, food-grade bottled vegetable oil, and animal feed.
