Palm Oil Price Outlook For First Week Of October

Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to trade with an upward bias next week, supported by expectations of weaker production.

Palm oil trader David Ng said strong export demand would also play a key role in shaping market sentiment.

He told Bernama: "We expect crude palm oil prices to trade between 4,300 ringgit and 4,580 ringgit per tonne next week."

On a weekly basis, the October 2025 contract fell by 44 ringgit to 4,365 ringgit per tonne, the November 2025 contract dropped 29 ringgit to 4,367 ringgit per tonne, and the December 2025 contract declined 29 ringgit to 4,396 ringgit per tonne.

The January 2026 contract fell by 22 ringgit to 4,420 ringgit per tonne, the February 2026 contract slipped 14 ringgit to 4,420 ringgit per tonne, while the March 2026 contract rose 4 ringgit to 4,408 ringgit per tonne.

Weekly trading volume rose to 423,097 lots from 264,468 lots the previous week, while open interest fell to 250,893 lots from 260,581 lots previously.

The spot price for October crude palm oil fell by 40 ringgit to 4,360 ringgit per tonne.
