CPO Price Forecast for the Second Week of April 2026

Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to trade higher next week amid the continuing crisis in West Asia, according to one trader.

David Ng, a proprietary trader at Iceberg X Sdn Bhd, said news relating to Indonesia's B50 biodiesel programme is also expected to improve market sentiment.

He told Bernama: "We expect crude palm oil prices to trade in a range between 4,750 and 4,950 Malaysian ringgit per tonne next week."

On a weekly basis, Friday to Friday, the April 2026 contract rose 205 ringgit to 4,745 ringgit per tonne, the May 2026 contract gained 188 ringgit to 4,799 ringgit per tonne, and the June 2026 contract climbed 208 ringgit to 4,839 ringgit per tonne.

The July 2026 contract meanwhile posted gains of 224 ringgit to reach 4,844 ringgit per tonne, August 2026 added around 227 ringgit to record 4,824 ringgit per tonne, and September 2026 advanced 219 ringgit to 4,789 ringgit per tonne.

Weekly trading volume jumped to 518,950 lots, compared with 363,166 lots the previous week, while open interest rose to 252,147 contracts from 236,911 previously.

The physical price of crude palm oil for April delivery in the southern region rose 200 ringgit to 4,760 ringgit per tonne.
