According to palm oil trader David Ng, crude palm oil futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to trade within a defined price range next week, amid an overall downward trend.

He said this is being driven by expectations of an unfavourable crop report, with traders bracing for data that could point to higher production and rising stock levels, which would put further pressure on prices.

Ng told Bernama: "We expect the market to trade between 4,050 and 4,200 ringgit (per tonne) next week."

On a weekly basis, the November 2025 spot-month contract fell 105 ringgit to 4,080 ringgit per tonne, while the December 2025 contract dropped 111 ringgit to 4,082 ringgit per tonne, and the January 2026 contract slipped 98 ringgit to 4,109 ringgit per tonne.

The February 2026 contract fell 85 ringgit to 4,137 ringgit per tonne, the March 2026 contract dropped 71 ringgit to 4,157 ringgit per tonne, and the April 2026 contract eased 52 ringgit to 4,168 ringgit per tonne.

Weekly trading volume rose to 487,131 lots from 469,530 lots the previous week, while open interest edged up slightly to 264,821 lots from 264,770 lots previously.

The physical price of crude palm oil for November delivery, south, fell 120 ringgit to 4,120 ringgit per tonne.
