Canadian canola exports continue to decline. According to official statistics, export volume fell to 121,000 tonnes in the week ending November 9, 2025, compared with 188,000 tonnes in the previous week.

Since the start of the 2025/2026 agricultural season, total exports have reached 1.544 million tonnes, down 54.1% compared with the same period last year, according to SunSirs data.

Market Analysis:

  • The sharp decline in export shipments points to weaker international demand and the emergence of a supply surplus in the domestic market.
  • This situation is putting significant pressure on spot prices.
  • Any further slowdown in exports could create conditions for higher inventories and a continued downward price trend.

Related Markets: Negative trends are also being observed in related markets, as lower raw material costs add further pressure on prices:

  • Rapeseed meal market: The January futures contract on the Zhengzhou exchange fell to 2,449 yuan per tonne.
  • Rapeseed oil market: The March contract declined to 9,635 yuan per tonne, reinforcing bearish sentiment amid a growing supply-demand imbalance.
