Algeria’s 2025 Finance Bill includes a proposal related to crude soybean oil production.
The bill proposes extending the deadline until December 31, 2025, for crude soybean oil importers and manufacturers to begin producing this raw material or sourcing it from the national market.
Failure to meet this requirement would result in the loss of compensation benefits and customs and tax exemptions granted at import.
The deadline granted to importers and processors of crude soybean oil to begin producing this raw material or sourcing it locally had previously been extended under Article 91 of the 2024 law.
To ensure sufficient availability of edible oil in the national market, the 2024 Finance Law postponed the date by which importers and processors of crude soybean oil must either begin producing this raw material or source it from the national market until December 31, 2024.
Failure to comply would lead to the loss of compensation benefits and customs and tax exemptions granted to them.
