Location: Melbourne, Australia (Full time, Trading – with a possible 3–4 month regional assignment)

As a Grain and Oilseeds Commercial Trainee, you'll join a structured development program built to develop the skills and commercial acumen for a long-term career in agribusiness and commodity trading. Through rotations across three areas of Cargill's Ag and Trading business — Trading & Risk Management, Supply Chain & Execution, and Farmer Customer Services — you'll gain a broad understanding of the Australian grain and oilseeds supply chain from farm to end-user.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support market analysis by monitoring commodity prices, supply and demand fundamentals, trade flows, customer activity and industry trends.
  • Assist with trading and risk management, including market insights, data analysis and reporting to support commercial decisions.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain team to deliver grains and oilseeds to customers safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Work with Farmer Customer Services to support grain origination and build relationships with growers and industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to commercial, operational and customer-focused projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently completing, or recently graduated from, a bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, Supply Chain, Agriculture or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with well-developed written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across teams, regions and time zones.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment.
