The Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) is organizing the 9th edition of the International Soy Conclave (ISC 2026), taking place on 16–17 October 2026 at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore, Madhya Pradesh — known as India's soy capital. The conclave is the leading gathering for India's soybean and edible oil sector, bringing together processors, refiners, traders, policymakers and researchers to discuss market trends and the challenges and opportunities across the soy value chain.
Conference Programme
Day One — Friday, 16 October 2026
- Session 1 — Agriculture and Sustainability: a panel on strategies for enhancing the sustainable productivity of Indian soybean, with ICAR-National Soybean Research Institute (NSRI) and ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR), a presentation of SANKALP, a platform for analysing soybean value chain dynamics, and a Solidaridad presentation on sustainability and regenerative agriculture.
- Session 2 — Value Addition: New Frontiers in Soy Foods: the future of soy protein processing and emerging extrusion technologies, presented by Dr. Mian N. Riaz of Texas A&M University, USA, plus new avenues for value-added soy foods.
- Session 3 — Technology Session I: novel deodorization technology focused on micronutrient recovery in soybean oil by Alfa Laval, and technology pathways for value addition in soybean processing by DVC.
- Fireside chat — Legacy and the Leap: veteran commodity experts and agri economists in conversation with next-generation industry leaders.
- Session 4 — Panel "Futures Trading: Boon or Bane?": with MCX, Suguna Foods and a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) representative.
- SOPA Processing, Export and Sales Awards, followed by an entertainment programme and gala dinner.
Day Two — Saturday, 17 October 2026
- Inaugural session: welcome and keynote by SOPA Chairman Naresh Goenka, addresses by officials from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Guest's address, and the release of the conclave souvenir.
- Session 5 — Technology Session II: next-generation soy processing and bio-fermentation of soy DOC by Famsun, Alfa Laval's sustainable solutions from refining to net zero, and energy-efficiency solutions by Forbes Marshall.
- Session 6 — Market Outlook: Global and Domestic Supply & Demand: mapping soymeal and soy oil supply and demand with price forecasts, El Niño's impact on soybeans and global prices, the economics of ethanol, DDGS and soymeal substitution in Indian poultry feed, and the outlook for the poultry industry.
- Session 7 — Price Outlook: a panel discussion with leading analysts and traders.
- Session 8 — Crop Outlook: SOPA's presentation of Indian soybean crop estimates, alongside estimates from the audience.
The programme is tentative according to the organizer's latest update, and some speakers are awaiting confirmation.
